A Message from Our Founder…

A Mission Behind Our Season

Hi Everybody. My name is John Alban Coughlan and I’m the Creative Director of Char-Len a Cottage Industry. Since its inception in 2019, Char-Len has been providing recently graduated young filmmakers and actors with paid opportunities to test their creativity in collaboration with union professionals. 

The results of our Char-Len’s short film Dollars and Sense, resulted in our being selected for four international film festivals, and our garnering the Culver City Film Festival’s 2020 Grand Prize for Best Narrative Short. This year’s SAG-AFTRA production of The Unsymmetrical continues this tradition with one of our principal actors, the wonderful Connor Brannigan, a recent graduate of Binghampton University’s Fine Arts Program. We’re already putting out feelers for Directors and Cinematographers for this unusual audio visual project.
