Prior to his short career as a sports commentator, Harlan Spurtz became familiar to listeners world wide while reporting several significant international disasters. His experience as an overseas correspondent for WQWD became the subject for both the novel Six Fingers On My Hand, and its subsequent film adaption Le Sixième Doigt, winner of the prestigious Tin Tiger Festival’s Foil Laurel.
