Happy New Year…Quiet Grace and New Found Impetus

Well, I’m the last person to have imagined that this year would have provided such creative opportunity in the midst of so much chaos.

My good news for this end of 2020 Post is that Dollars and Sense has received The Culver City Film Festival’s Grand Prize for Best Narrative Short of 2020. We’re all of us here at Char-Len, a Cottage Industry and at Bay One Productions holding center in the face our desire to collapse with joy and unplug for a week or three. In fact, the good work continues. And, as Dollars and Sense was such a labor of love from the onset, we’re all of us the happiest of parental units as we take pride in communicating so much to so many strangers across the country. The film has found its footing now—and, while we continue to support its odyssey in 2021, we’ll be moving on with our new project’s development throughout the first quarter of 2022. Yes, we’ve another SAG-AFTRA Short Film on our drawing board as well as seven collaborators—some new and some familiar—to see it through. So, the door opens once again to creation and chaos and eventual order.

And, speaking of form and chaos…

Let’s not just look forward to—but actively pursue our seeing and taking responsibility for the creation of something that will provide us all with honest form and content. Process takes time and disciple…And certainly patience. I remain confident and optimistic that with perseverance we’ll soon revisit a world of forward thinking and creative collaboration for the common good.

No digressions here—I intend to stick to the path when it comes to this goal.
